Be A Part of A Mindful Community
A Mindful Life is a place for you to practice the tools you most likely already know will help you to live with more presence, ease, and joy, but often get pushed aside for later, which rarely comes.
This will be your dedicated space to listen to yourself, observe, reflect, and have space to be just as you are within a warm community of people who support you. It gives you precious time with yourself to remember what matters to you and to know what is alive in you and to share from that place.
I am often told that the deeper, more genuine level of connection and communication that happens in these groups is hard to find outside. Each Mindful Life Group is a special community which you, too, can be a part of.
Offered typically in 8 week segments, each week we come together in a uniquely intimate and safe community to practice: 1) mindfulness meditation, 2) gratefulness practice, 3) self-kindness and loving-kindness, 4) reflective exercises, 5) mindful communication. Groups are limited to 16.
What do A Mindful Life groups do for us? They...
-
Give us a dedicated space to practice meditation. Something that often gets pushed off to "later," which may never come. Practicing in a group setting is very powerful and often different from sitting alone.
-
Give us space in our busy lives to slow down to listen and feel what is alive in us. To meet ourselves with curiosity and care. Only with awareness can we choose what we do.
-
Give us space to mindfully reflect on what matters most. They reconnect us to what we value. So much can bring us away from what we truly care about, it helps us to remind ourselves.
-
Move our attention to what is well and good, to what is full and joyful. Gratefulness naturally arises when we turn our attention to the goodness that's here.
-
Help us to meet ourselves and others with greater compassion and kindness.
-
Help us to hear our own wisdom, as well as others', as we practice listening and speaking mindfully. Deeper, meaningful conversations are the norm here.
-
Gently stretch our perceptions and help us to move away from our habitual reactions so we have more choice and possibility.
-
Create a sense of community.
-
Help move us out of the small "I" that gets stuck in taking things personally, and help us to see our connection to everything around us and brings us humility. We are reminded that other people, just like us, have these experiences which loosens our grip and gets us out of shame and blame.
Please note: A Mindful Life groups are limited to 16 participants and intended for those who have some experience with meditation (it is not a meditation class) and for those willing to go deep with their inner explorations through reflective and contemplative exercises. I do not give meditation instruction, though certainly questions can be explored that arise in our practices. It does ask for your consistent attendance. There are no make-ups or refunds for missed sessions. If you are new to working with me, I will schedule a brief phone consultation to get to know you and to be sure it is the right fit.
For Local Therapists/Coaches/Healing Professionals: Being a therapist, a life coach, or someone in a healing profession can make it a challenge to find a place where you can put your hat aside and tend to your own self-care and discovery. Please reach out and we can find a group without client conflict.

Is There A Better Time To Practice?
Main Tools in A Mindful Life:
-
Mindfulness meditation. Usually guided, sometimes silent.
-
Gratefulness. We practice strengthening the muscle that notices and takes in what is good.
-
Loving-Kindness and Self-Kindness. There will be an emphasis on cultivating kindness for ourselves and others. This will come in the form of guided exercises and meditations. We can find a kinder, gentler way of being with ourselves and others.
-
Reflective Exercises. I bring in weekly topics and ask a series of deepening questions for you to explore. I will guide you into your body to get a whole-body awareness of what might be present. We get to observe, to hear our needs, to know ourselves by diving in and staying with what gets revealed. In the process, we learn not to react, but to be present, curious and compassionate.
-
Mindful Communication. This is a place where we listen to ourselves and listen to each other with our full attention and care.
How The Groups Run:
-
Held typically in 8-week segments, each group meets weekly. There is often a week off between the 8 week segments and most people continue from one segment to the next. Current group members have priority to hold their place for the next segment. These groups run year round with a longer break in August.
-
Limited to 16 participants. Inquire to see which group has room. Some may have waiting lists.
-
To keep group commitment and consistency, there are no make-ups or refunds for missed sessions.
Who Might Benefit?
-
Do you feel you don’t have time for yourself?
-
Do you want to be guided in practices that will help you live with more presence, awareness, kindness & joy?
-
Do you want to feel more connected to yourself and be more of your genuine self?
-
Do you want deeper levels of connection and communication with others?
-
Do you struggle with negative thinking, anxiety or anger?
-
Do you find yourself to be overly controlling and unable to go with the flow?
-
Do you find yourself to be judgmental (of yourself and/or others)?
If you answered yes to any of these, this might be the group for you. Let's talk and find out.

Wonderful Experience
Thank you, Jean, for leading us on this retreat. It was a wonderful experience and I can feel the healing energy within me. And thank you to all for sharing your joy and yourselves. I definitely felt the love in the room! I look forward to being with you all again in a future retreat!
So Grateful
I am so grateful to have met and spent the weekend with all of you. I feel like I gained something for each and every one to take away with me. Thank you, Jean, for creating the loving, non-judgmental space that gave us all the ability to connect so easily over two days.
Exceeded Expectations
I was more peaceful during those days than I have been in a very long time. Thank you, Jean, for your thoughtful/mindful preparation. I was unsure what to expect and it exceeded whatever expectations I did have.....by a wide margin. Thank you, all, for such a spiritual experience.
